Cape Elizabeth’s Down Home Farm was
launched in the spring of 2009,
by Nick and Nicole Tammaro.

 

Nick had always dreamed of starting
a farm in the town where he grew up. 
To make his dream a reality, he purchased
a small piece of land from Nate and Kathy Maxwell to build a homestead and start his family.  Additionally, he leases hay field and pasture from Nate.

 

Together with Nate, Nick works to hay the land and pasture the animals on fresh green grass.  They started with merely 2 cows and 2 calves, but within two years have expanded to 4 cows, 3 calves, 2 goats, 6 pigs, 6 lambs, 15 laying hens and 15 turkeys.
